Car service after 10000 kilometers of operation
After 10000 km of operation it is necessary to:
- conduct testing of all elements of the fuel system, inspect cooling devices for tightness
- make sure that the ventilation is tight, clean it if necessary
- check the drive belt for tension
- check the battery electrolyte, check the density
- change the engine oil and filter
- flush the engine when there are signs that the oil is not changed in a timely manner
- install a new filter, lubricate the sealing ring
- change the fuel filter for fine cleaning
- check the brake boost pump operation
- inspect the thrust regulator, test the "kick-down" mode in cars with automatic transmission
- clean the air cleaning filter
- check the exhaust gas valve (EGR), clean it from carbon
Car service before summer season
When the vehicle is out of operation in winter, first of all, it is necessary to charge the battery, check the level of oil, coolant, make sure that all the systems and components of the car are not damaged.
If the car was under operation in winter, it will be necessary to thoroughly wash the bottom and body to remove residues of anti-icing agents that lead to corrosion of the body.
You should do the following before summer starts:
- wash the car body, dry mats
- inspect for scratches and rust on the body surface
- change tires for summer ones
- make wheel balancing and alignment
- make external cleaning of the motor
- inspect the shock absorbers
- check the level of oil and other liquids
- inspect the suspension and control
- diagnose the brake system
- check the air conditioner, refill and clean it

Car service before winter season
Car preparation for winter includes all the previous paragraphs of the recommendations with some differences.
Technical fluids. You should use a frost-resistant windshield washer fluid in winter. If the antifreeze and brake fluid was changed long time ago, it is necessary to check the percentage of water content in them at the service center.
Tires. Change the tires for winter ones when the air temperature drops below +5 °C.
Body. In the cold season the body is constantly exposed to external negative influences: ice, chemical mixtures that are spreaded over the roads. The body is covered with solid wax, which creates a protective layer on the paintwork.
Fuel system. When refueling, condensate appear on the walls of the fuel tank due to the influence of temperature differences. The presence of water in the tank in winter can lead to a failure of the fuel pump.
Electrical equipment. While preparing for the cold season, all electrical equipment must be thoroughly tested for malfunctions and adjustments. Insulation defect and any current leakage should be eliminated.
Wiring. Fuses must be checked along with the electrical wiring, they are selected and installed according to the instructions of the vehicle manufacturer.
In winter you should prevent the battery from discharging, use electrical energy economically, control the lighting devices.
Alternator. Alternator operation testing includes the following:
- inspection of the armature, collectors, brushes
- rotational speed testing
- heating temperature check
- inspection for knocks and other extraneous noises
