Everyone who is engaged in repair and service of automotive electronics in European cars knows about the FlexRay protocol. Specialists say, the FlexRay protocol is a standard for high speed onboard networks and has replaced the outdated diagnostic interfaces.
It is written a lot about the advantages of FlexRay over CAN and other buses, but not everyone knows how this network works in the car. The equipment for receiving and transmitting data via FlexRay is not popular still, because it has a fairly high price.
MSG Equipment engineers provide technical support for the repair of automotive units. Our target audience is car services stations, and we carefully study their needs and try to help with solving problems.
Nowadays we can read and process FlexRay data in BMW!
We studied the FlexRay protocol under the problem of power steering racks diagnostics, namely: Audi A6 C7 / Audi A7, Audi Q7 2015-, Audi A4 B9-, BMW F-series, G-series, as well as Mercedes W205, W212, W222. BMW units were at the head of the queue to study, it is impossible to identify the rack performance on the table during repairing without sending the necessary data to it by FlexRay. The second step was the diagnostics and upgrade of Audi racks. These racks can be run on the table compared to BMW if they are operative, but if there are critical errors recorded in the memory, it will not work even with a manual adjustment: the rack must be upgraded. We maketoo much efforts to be successful and hope that our achievements will help us in the recovery of these units.
