Test Bench MS505 is used for diagnostics of power steering racks and gears under power pressure. The equipment measures parameters of pressure and fluid flow generated in power steering rack. The test bench detects the following failures: wear out of body, teflon rings, seal cups. The equipment can be placed in premises with limited working space due to its small dimensions. Test bench power supply is 220V, thus, there is no need inindustrial power supply.

To test the steering rack, connect it to the test bench using high and low pressure hoses. Turn on the test bench by pressing the appropriate button, start its pump. Next, you need to move the rod from one end position to the other, the flow rate and pressure of the liquid (according to the indicators of the test bench) will change at the same time. In the extreme positions of the rod, the pressure should be the maximum (set by the settings) according to the readings of the pressure gauge. Visually, it is possible to detect leakage of the tested units. The reasons for the malfunction of the steering in general and the reasons for the malfunction of the steering rack in particular are often associated with the prolonged operation of the units, possible mechanical impacts on the racks (impact as a result of falling into the pit, accident).
The condition of the working fluid and the need for its replacement are assessed visually. It should be transparent, homogeneous, without sediment. In this case, the replacement of the working fluid (ATF DEXRON II) and the filter element (CR091C10R) of the hydraulic system of the test bench must be carried out not less than one year after operation.
Stand MS505 allows you to create a pressure in the racks, equal to 140 bars. The recommended pressure (set by the regulator) is 120 bar. This indicator allows you to check most of the steering bars installed on passenger cars and commercial vehicles, since the hydraulic power steering pumps on these cars mostly have pressure values from 80 to 100 bar.
The time of checking the rack with the hydraulic power steering with the test bench depends on the speed of connection of the corresponding hoses, readings of the indicators and the time for disconnection of the hoses. The whole process will take no more than 5-10 minutes.
